The Rotary Club of Clackamas has awarded Megan Ehl '19 its annual Youth Service Award.
Megan was honored for her extensive volunteer work, which includes raising puppies to become service dogs through the Healing Hounds nonprofit. She's also been involved with the National Charity League, Feed the Hungry, Special Olympics, and the Wichita Center, a community resource center.
"Giving a little bit of time and compassion is one of the most rewarding feelings," Megan said in her acceptance speech to club members on Thursday. "I am passionate about many things, but offering my time and service to those in need - it rises to the top."
After graduating from La Salle next month, Megan plans to attend Carroll College in Montana to major in nursing and minor in anthrozoology.
No matter what she pursues after college, said Megan, "I know that service will always play a major role in my life."
