La Salle starts school year with more than 700 students

More than 700 students walked into La Salle Prep today to kick off the 2019-2020 school year.
This year's student body is 703 strong, and includes 11 transfer students and two students from Japan.
According to Admissions Director Katie Allen, the Class of 2023 numbers 163; 54 percent are female, and 46 percent are male.
Nearly 60 percent of the freshmen hail from Catholic schools, while 41 percent come from public, charter, or private schools.
Allen added that 62 percent of the freshmen are related to a current or previous La Salle student, 9 percent are children of alumni, two students are grandchildren of alumni.
