UPDATES AND CHANGES TRIGGERED BY COVID-19

Lasallians walk, sing, and pray to support young cancer patients

Students from La Salle and Catholic high schools all over the area walked, sang, and prayed last weekend as part of the annual Walk for Joy to raise funds for the Children's Cancer Association, which brings music, fun, and friendship to young cancer patients.

Sisters Emma Olson '22 and Sophie Olson '24 showed their support by taking a walk on the Mirror Lake Trail. "My sister and I participated because getting outside and going on walks is one our favorite activities — especially during quarantine," said Emma. "The Walk For Joy seemed like the perfect opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while supporting an amazing event."

Several La Salle students performed in an online show on Saturday, and participated in a special Mass on Sunday.

So far, Lasallians have donated more than $1,000 to the Walk for Joy; donations will be accepted via this link through the end of October.

"I am so happy that members of our La Salle community donated to the CCA during this tough time for families dealing with a cancer diagnosis," said La Salle Director of Service Sarah Maher. "Any amount helps!"
