The Saalfeld Athletic Center is complete! In recent weeks, contractors have finished building the center's commons, classroom, and concession stand.
They also put up a red "Falcons" mural and a display that profiles the center's namesake, the late Father Lawrence Saalfeld, who was a school trustee and faithful Falcon fan.
Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer Matthew Winningham thanked everyone who supported the project, as well as architect Studio Petretti and contractor Todd Construction.
From concept to design to fundraising to construction, "God blessed La Salle with the right people in the right places at the right time," he said. “We are so grateful for everyone that stepped up to help make this happen. When the time is right, we will be eager to invite everyone in to celebrate the new space and cheer on our Falcons!”
The center features new locker rooms, team rooms, public restrooms, classroom, as well as a new entrance and fitness center. The new wood gym floor is named "Cleghorn Court" after longtime Falcon teacher and basketball coach Jack Cleghorn.
