La Salle's Class of 2021 graduated on Saturday, June 5, 2021, during a ceremony at Rolling Hills Community Church.
The class, 177 strong, came of age during an extraordinary time. In the last 12 months of their high school career, they faced a global pandemic, a growing awareness of a political unrest, an economic downturn, and a racial reckoning.
Pandemic restrictions closed school grounds, shortened sports seasons, and canceled in-person gatherings. Instead of celebrating their final year on campus, La Salle seniors, like most high schoolers across the country, spent most of their last year in high school learning online.
"The universe threw a lot at us, and we couldn't do anything but adapt. And so we did because that's what we are good at," Paige Martin, one of three class valedictorians, said during the commencement ceremony. "Our resilience will define us."
