More than 60 Lasallians re-enacted Joseph and Mary’s journey to Bethlehem during a Christmas Posada at La Salle Prep in Milwaukie, Oregon, on Thursday, Dec. 7.
During the Posada, several La Salle students, parents, staff, and community members walked the halls of the school as if they were Joseph and Mary seeking shelter for their baby to be born. After they were finally welcomed in by those playing the part of the innkeeper, everyone feasted at a potluck, and broke open a piñata.
Counselor Maritza Mendez said she and registrar Liz Staggs coordinated the event to share the Advent tradition – popular in Mexico – with the school community.
