Healthcare experts talk shop

More than 100 students learned about careers in healthcare during this week's Career Chats.
The talks, the first in a series of on-campus career conversations, brought professionals to La Salle to talk to students about working in the fields of medicine or healthcare.
"The purpose was to give students a chance to talk to professionals," said Renee Giesemann, director of counseling. "Students could talk to them about the paths they took, the kind of education they got, and their work experience. They also could ask for advice about how to get into the field."
This week's speakers represented a range of jobs in a variety of disciplines, such as social work, nursing, neurosurgery, and sports medicine.
The Counseling staff hopes to orchestrate more Career Chats in fields such as engineering and education.
