An astronomical visit

Astrophysicist Karel Schrijver, PhD, spoke to students this week as part of La Salle’s Thinkshop series on innovative thinking.

Schrijver, who spent much of his career specializing in the study of the sun and the space around it, served as the lead scientist and principal investigator on three of NASA’s spacecraft designed to study the sun.

In his remarks to students, Schrijver said that such projects are only possible when people from a variety of disciplines communicate and work together.
