In response to requests from mothers of football players, head football coach Aaron Hazel ’99 and his coaching staff will hold a “Chalk Talk” for women 21 and older who want to know more about the game. The session will be held 6:30-9pm on Friday, June 8, in the Hamersly Library.
Hazel said the football staff is hosting the event for several reasons.
“First and foremost, I am a big believer that football is the greatest game ever invented and sometimes the women involved with our players can feel left out,” he said. “I want to provide an opportunity to the women who support our players and our program to develop a deeper connection.”
“Secondly,” he added, “We are teaching a lot more than X’s and O’s within the Falcon Football program, and I want to share these philosophies with anyone who will listen.”
Third, he said, “Women love football! Unfortunately, there are not a lot of opportunities for women to share their enthusiasm for the sport. We want to give the women associated with La Salle that opportunity!”
The evening will include a wine social, raffle, and an overview of football terminology. There also will be a discussion about safety in high school games and practices.
