La Salle gets new leadership

Dear La Salle families,

After conducting a comprehensive, nationwide search for a new president, La Salle Prep’s Board of Trustees has tapped a familiar face to be the school’s new leader: Principal Andrew Kuffner. Mr. Kuffner will assume his new role as La Salle’s president/principal and chief executive officer on July 1, 2018.

As the school’s chief executive, Mr. Kuffner will lead the faculty and academics and report directly to La Salle Prep’s Board of Trustees.

We are confident Mr. Kuffner will continue La Salle’s mission and tradition of academic excellence, faith, and service. He is committed to “providing a human, Christian, transformative, and relevant 21st-century education that prepares our students for college and whatever else God calls them to do.”

Mr. Kuffner is confident in La Salle’s current faculty and leadership staff and their ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the students and school. For example, he will put Chief Financial Officer Matthew Winningham in charge of school operations such as campus development, admissions, communications, human resources, advancement, and the business office.

The Board of Trustees is grateful for Mr. Kuffner’s willingness to serve in this expanded capacity and is confident he will provide the visionary leadership La Salle needs as we look to the future.

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt gratitude to outgoing president Mrs. Denise L. Jones for her dedication to the school and our Lasallian mission. Her 15 years of transformational leadership and service have enhanced and advanced our community; we wish her the best of luck in retirement.

Sincerely,

Mark Auxier

Chairman, Board of Trustees
