Christmas drive in high gear

La Salle Prep's 15th annual Christmas Drive is underway.

During this campaign, students and staff buy and wrap gifts for families in need whose children attend school at nearby Lot Whitcomb Elementary.

The students and staff will collect new, unwrapped toys and clothing for these 80 children -- birth to 18 years old -- through December 7. Drop donations off at the main office or in the Student Life Center during school hours. Those attending Yulefest on Saturday, December 1, can bring donations to the event.

La Salle will also give the families household supplies collected during the school's Fall Drive.

"Through this project, we hope to instill awareness and compassion in our students," said Kelsey Peyton '02, director of service. "We aren’t just giving gifts to put under a tree. We are giving families hope."
