Director of Facilities, full-time

Job description:

La Salle Prep has an immediate opening for a full-time Director of Facilities who will plan, manage, and perform all essential functions to maintain a clean, safe, and inviting campus.

The successful candidate will play a leadership role in developing and delivering on an annual operating plan that ensures proper upkeep, repair, and maintenance of all campus facilities, systems, and grounds. Vendor management will include, but not be limited to overseeing janitorial, HVAC/mechanical, and security for events, utilities, general maintenance, landscaping, and other trades as needed. Candidate will analyze proposals and negotiate contracts with vendors and other interested parties and will need to have a working knowledge of project designs and plans.

The individual must have demonstrated computer skills, especially an intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.  Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, strong oral and written skills, and the ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines are required, as well as the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on a variety of concurrent projects.   

The successful candidate will demonstrate a working knowledge of technical and operational skills, including mechanical and electrical, buildings and grounds maintenance operations. The successful candidate must have demonstrated the ability to work independently, while also cooperating as a team member with school colleagues and administrators to ensure key initiatives are met. The Director of Facilities will be expected to supervise, manage and direct the work of others, and will be required to be present during occasional evening and weekend events.

Level of employment:

The position is exempt full-time, year round, and offers competitive benefits.



Preferences and requirements:

  • An Associate’s degree or higher is preferred. 
  • Project or facilities management experience of 5+ years is required.
  • Experience in an educational environment is preferred.
