Performing & Visual Arts
Our performing and visual arts programs empower students to discover and cultivate their artistic skills through outstanding instruction and showcases. The fall play and spring musical, choir and instrumental music concerts, and visual arts encourage self-expression and an appreciation for the arts, giving us a glimpse of the world through student eyes.
Music
Band musicians study music history, improvisation, and perform at various events throughout the year.
Choir performs at events, mass, Baccalaureate, and more.
Guitar students learn both musical theory and practice in a variety of genres including classical, folk, liturgical, blues, and more.
Theater
The theater department stages at least three productions each year. Students write, act, and direct as well as provide critical leadership and support through lighting, blocking, staging, set building, costuming, and make-up.
A variety of theater elective classes are offered, including introduction to theater arts, technical theater and scenic construction, and more.
Visual Arts
Visual arts classes include 2-D applications such as drawing, printmaking, painting, mixed media, photography, and design principles as well as 3-D applications, including ceramics and sculpture. AP Studio Art is an intensive college level course for students interested in building a strong portfolio of work.
