Travel Programs

At La Salle, education extends far beyond the classroom, allowing students to explore their passions and values in real-world contexts. We offer a wide range of travel opportunities and service immersions, which encourage students to embrace a global mindset, form lifelong friendships and develop leadership skills that will serve them for years to come.

While travel opportunities vary by year, students have recently toured six countries across Europe and participated in service immersions and extracurricular competitions throughout the United States and beyond. At La Salle the possibilities are endless.

Service Immersions

Blackfeet Reservation (Montana) - Spend a week tutoring children at the De La Salle Blackfeet School, engaging in discussions about equity and indigenous peoples, and exploring the culture and traditions of the local Blackfeet community.

El Otro Lado (Texas) - Hosted by Cathedral High School in El Paso, Texas, students explore the many issues related to border realities, including immigration, asylum seekers, unaccompanied minors.

L'Arche Immersion (Washington) - L'Arche is a community where people with and without disabilities share life and build friendships. Work on a farm harvesting, weeding, and gardening alongside those with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, while learning ways to make our world a more inclusive place.

Yakama Nation (Washington) - Learn about the rich culture of Yakama Nation and participate in a variety of service activities.

International Immersions

La Salle offers academic travel opportunities in connection to our World Language Department. While not every trip happens every year, we aim to give all language students the opportunity to travel at least once during their years at La Salle Prep. Students visited France, Spain, and Germany in 2024. The next World Language trip will be to Spain in 2025.

In recent years, cultural educational tours have been offered to Greece, Italy, and England. The next tour will visit Portugal in 2026!

Domestic Travel

A variety of domestic travel opportunities take place each year in connection to co-curricular activities and athletics:

Harvard Model Congress - Boston, MA
Canyonlands Field Institute - Moab, UT
Athletics Competition - Varies by sport

Annual Lasallian Conferences provide a special opportunity for our students to connect with students from Lasallian schools across the country:

Lasallian Student Leaders Conference - Students and educators gather at Saint Mary's College in Moraga, CA to explore Lasallian Core Principles, strengthen their leadership skills, and participate in engaging workshops. Through reflection and collaboration, they exchange ideas to bring meaningful improvements to their school communities.
Lasallian Youth Assembly - This conference centers on faith, service, and community, exploring a new social justice topic each year. Students volunteer in shared service activities and connect with other Lasallian schools in our district.
